Baked Beans

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 can Borlotti beans drained
  • 1 tbsp canola or vegetable oil
  • 250 g bacon chopped
  • 1 brown onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • cup brown vinegar
  • ½ cup BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • ½ tsp dried chilli flakes

Instructions

  • Drain and rinse the beans
  • In a frying pan, add the oil and fry the onion (7 mins)
  • Add the Garlic and cook (2 mins)
  • Add Bacon and cook (3 - 4 mins)
  • Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker, add the rest of the ingredients
  • Cook on low 12 hours or on high for 8 hours

Notes

  • The beans can be kept in the fridge for up to a week, you may need to add a little water when you are reheating to loosen them up.
