BBQ Sauce
Once you find out how much sugar there is in bottled sauce - you'll want to try this!

- 1 kg fresh tomatoes very ripe, halved
- 150 g red onion rouhly chopped
- 1 fresh red chilli roughly chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 100 ml balsamic vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 50 ml maple syrup
- 2 tsp worchestershire sauce
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp ground smoky paprika
- 2 tsp sea salt
- freshly ground black pepper
Put the tomatoes and onion in a food processor and blend until smooth. Or use a hand blender if you have one.
In a heavy based pan add a glug of oil and all of the ingredients
Bring to the boil then lower to simmer for 45 mins, stir occasionally
Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool
Spoon into sterilzed jars or use immediately
